The improved bi-bevel, tapered "scalpel" sharp needle tip enhances penetration control through tissue of varied type and thickness. A fenestrated catheter with three fenestrations plus the catheter tip delivers four paths for air to escape, providing statistically significant improvement in tension relief and prevention of distal catheter occlusion compared to non-fenestrated designs. Centimetre-graduated catheter markings enable safer placement using thoracic depth control, and the flexible catheter design reduces the risk of kinking during use.
