Description
The QuikClot Haemostatic EMS Dressing is a sterile, soft, nonwoven dressing (10 × 10 cm) impregnated with kaolin — an inorganic mineral that activates Factor XII to accelerate the body’s natural clotting process. This advanced haemostatic technology promotes rapid and robust clot formation to control bleeding quickly and effectively, providing more time to manage patient care during emergency situations. Compared to standard gauze, QuikClot has demonstrated superior performance in reducing blood loss and promoting stronger clot formation, helping to minimise exposure to bloodborne pathogens and reduce equipment decontamination time.
Each dressing includes an X-ray detectable strip for easy identification and may be left in place for up to 24 hours. Uses the same placement technique as standard gauze, making it intuitive for EMS use.
